Two errors from goalkeeper Andre Onana denied Manchester United a victory in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final against Lyon at the Groupama Stadium on Thursday night.
The two sides equally shared four goals, drawing 2-2, with Lyon rescuing a draw deep into second half injury time when Rayan Cherki pounced on Onana's second blunder of the night.
The Cameroonian spilled an effort directly into the path of the talented Frenchman and he made no mistake to ensure the tie is evenly poised ahead of next week's second leg at Old Trafford.
United thought they had won it when Joshua Zirkzee headed in with 88 minutes on the clock. The Reds had earlier fought back from behind prior to half-time through Leny Yoro's first goal for the club.
Lyon had taken a 25th-minute lead through Thiago Almada, whose free-kick went through everyone and beat Onana at his far post.
Focus for United now switches to Sunday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United at St James' Park.

Amorim explains giving Onana silent treatment after blunders
Ruben Amorim insists he will not say anything to Andre Onana despite his two blunders in Manchester United's Europa League draw with Lyon.
Onana was culpable for Thiago Almada's direct free kick and Rayan Cherki's 95th-minute equaliser four days after he billed United as "way better" than Lyon.
Amorim told the media:
"It can happen. If you play football, you play a lot of games, you can make mistakes. If you look at the season, I make more mistakes than them during these last games and these last months. The other thing is we have one more game to change everything and that should be our focus. "

Samuel Luckhurst
REPORT: What United players did with Onana after Lyon draw shows he is in trouble
Andre Onana checked the goalframe before kick off. It was stable. The Manchester United goalkeeper wasn't.
"Honour the coat of arms, fight like lions!" demanded the pre-match banner unfurled by Lyon supporters. Onana, one of Cameroon's 'Indomitable Lions', was tame.
Onana had to be faultless in Lyon. He was at fault for both goals. He appealed against Rayan Cherki's 95th-minute equaliser but he was wasting his time. He spilt a straight shot straight into Cherki's path. Nobody was offside.
Altay Bayindir, the United back-up goalie, patted Onana in the centre circle as the players and staff gathered. Onana has not backed up his words in person and online.

PLAYER RATINGS: Quartet get 8/10 as Onana has night to forget
Here is a flavour of how Samuel Luckhurst rated United's players out of ten following tonight's 2-2 draw in France...
Andre Onana
Had to be faultless yet he was at fault for Thiago Almada's goal from a free kick. Cocked up again for the equaliser in added time that denied United victory. 2
Noussair Mazraoui
Defended well and covered a number of times for Diogo Dalot. Showed again he is much more effective on the right of a back three. 8
Harry Maguire
A sloppy moment when he miscontrolled the ball shortly after Lyon went ahead. Not his most secure of evenings. 5

KEY EVENT
FULL-TIME: LYN 2-2 MUN - It ends all square
The full-time whistle goes here at the Groupama Stadium and it finishes 2-2.
United looked as though they were heading for an excellent victory following Joshua Zirkzee's 88th-minute header, but Andre Onana dropped a second clanger of the night in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
KEY EVENT
90+5' - LYN 2-2 MUN - GOAL LYON! 2-2 (Cherki)
Lyon level it up right at the death. Cherki capitalises on another Onana howler.
George Smith
90' - LYN 1-2 MUN - Five minutes added on
There will be a minimum of five additional minutes at the end of this second half.
KEY EVENT
88' - LYN 1-2 MUN - GOAL UNITED! 1-2 (Zirkzee)
That might be a winner for United! Fernandes lifts in a cross from the right, Zirkzee rises above his marker and heads the ball home.
That could be absolutely massive!
George Smith
86' - LYN 1-1 MUN - United let off the hook
What a chance for Lyon to strike late through Lacazette. He wins the ball inside the penalty area, lifts his head and shoots over the bar. He should have hit the target at the very least.
George Smith
83' - LYN 1-1 MUN - United changes
Amorim makes another two changes for United;
OFF: Magire & Garnacho
ON: Lindelof & Mainoo
George Smith
79' - LYN 1-1 MUN - United go close
A couple of chances for United in the blink of an eye. First, Garnacho sees an effort tipped over the bar by Perri after connecting with a cross from Dorgu, before, from the resulting corner, Casemiro heads just wide.
George Smith
77' - LYN 1-1 MUN - Boiling point
Tempers are threatening to get the better of both sets of players after a coming together between Tagliafico and Mount. The Lyon defeder caught Mount, who responded by pushing him.
Both players have been given yellow cards.
George Smith
72' - LYN 1-1 MUN - Mount comes on
Amorim makes his second change of the game;
OFF: Ugarte
ON: Mount
George Smith
69' - LYN 1-1 MUN - A big chance for United
This game is opening up now. Mazraoui made a great block at one end that led to a United counter-attack, but Garnacho played the wrong pass and it broke down. He had Zirkzee making a run on the overlap and he elected to find Fernandes, who was always stretching to get the ball.
George Smith
64' - LYN 1-1 MUN - Tolisso goes close
That was a great chance for Lyon to restore their lead through Tolisso. The Frenchman jinked his way through United's defence and got himself into the box before shooting on his left foot. However, it was straight at Onana and did not carry a great deal of power.
Easy save.
George Smith
63' - LYN 1-1 MUN - United change
United make their first change of the evening;
OFF: Hojlund
ON: Zirkzee
George Smith
61' - LYN 1-1 MUN - Yoro drags a shot wide
Yoro is hungry for a second goal, it seems. Space opens up in front of him, he drives forward and then drags a left-footed effort wide. It was worth a go.
George Smith
60' - LYN 1-1 MUN - An hour on the clock
We've had 60 minutes on the clock at the Groupama Stadium and it remains 1-1 between the two sides.
United have had the better of the play since half-time, but it is Lyon who have had the best chance.
The French side don't seem in a great hurry to progress the ball when they get hold of it.
George Smith
53' - LYN 1-1 MUN - Ugarte booked
Ugarte gets a yellow card for a shove in the back on Mikautadze. Following the free-kick, Lyon get forward quickly, the ball is cut back and Lacazette fires a volley wide. It looks as though he should have done a lot better.
George Smith
52' - LYN 1-1 MUN - Lyon change
Lyon are making a change at the start of this second half;
OFF: Akouokou
ON: Lacazette
George Smith
47' - LYN 1-1 MUN - A bright start by United
United have made a bright start to this second half. Dorgu, Fernandes and Ugarte have just combined passes on the left, resulting in Ugarte pulling the ball back into the box. Unfortunately, nobody in blue was there to meet it.
George Smith
46' - LYN 1-1 MUN - Back underway
The second half is up and running at the Groupama Stadium. It's all to play for following Yoro's goal right on the stroke of half-time.

Teams back out
The two sets of players have just made their way out and back onto the pitch. The second half is just about to get underway.
Samuel Luckhurst
It was outstanding from Yoro
That is brilliant from Yoro. A striker's finish from a defender with the final touch of the half. That could be huge.
It was reminiscent of Cavani at Southampton a few seasons ago. To react that quickly, connect that fully and actually steer the ball in as superb.
KEY EVENT

KEY EVENT
HALF-TIME: LYN 1-1 MUN - Level pegging at the break
The half-time whistle goes here at the Groupama Stadium and it is 1-1.
Thiago Almada's free-kick, which caught Andre Onana out, after 25 minutes looked as though it would give Lyon a half-time advantage, but Leny Yoro pulled the Reds level with a brilliant header.
KEY EVENT
45+5' - LYN 1-1 MUN - GOAL UNITED! 1-1 (Yoro)
United are back on terms right on the stroke of half-time. Yoro gets it, directing in a header after an effort was punched away.
A shot was fired back in byu Ugarte and Yoro directed a header into the net brilliantly.
Samuel Luckhurst
45+2' - LYN 1-0 MUN - Fernandes getting angry
Fernandes is starting to lose his rag. He didn't seem to approve of Onana going long then. Amorim is on his haunches, a sure sign things are going awry.
George Smith
45' - LYN 1-0 MUN - Four minutes added on
There will be a minimum of four additional minutes at the end of this first half.
